The gospel @ home
Hey parents! Welcome to the New Heights Kids blog! Our purpose here is to keep you in the loop with what your kids are learning each week. We hope you find it a useful tool in sharing the gospel at home!
We’re continuing our Listen Up series this week on obedience. This week we read and discussed Moses continuing to lead the Israelites to their new home. Pharaoh let his heart harden again and sends the Egyptians after the Israelites. The Israelites begin to doubt God is going to take care of them. Once again, God shows them He is in control by using Moses to part the Red Sea and leading them to safety.
Read James 1:6. “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.”
Grab a pan and fill it with water. Ask your kids if they think they can separate the water in the pan like Moses did the Red Sea. Let them try to hold the water back with their hands on each side of the pan. Discuss that this is an impossible task for us, but Moses achieved it with the power of God. Sometimes doubt creeps into our minds just like the Israelites. Tasks may seem impossible, but with the power of God on our side, anything is possible.
Glorify. Grow. Go.
