The gospel @ home
Hey parents! Welcome to the New Heights Kids blog! Our purpose here is to keep you in the loop with what your kids are learning each week. We hope you find it a useful tool in sharing the gospel at home!
This week, we continued our series with a two part lesson on Ruth. If service was cancelled at your location, Read Ruth 2:1-12 with your kids. Naomi and Ruth returned to Bethlehem with nothing. Ruth went right to work to provide food for herself and Naomi. We discussed Ruth’s character and her hardworking attitude. We also looked at how Boaz played a role in the situation and his reaction to the love Ruth showed Naomi.
Read Proverbs 6:6-8, “Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise. Without having any chief officer or ruler, she prepares her bread in summer and gathers her food in harvest.”
This week, discuss the characteristics of ants with your kids. Ask them when or where they typically see ants. They have to scavenge for food and work together often to survive. The Bible says we need to be hard workers just like the ants. Talk with your kids about ways they can be hard workers at home or school just like ants!
Glorify. Grow. Go.
