The gospel @ home

Hey parents! Welcome to the New Heights Kids blog! Our purpose here is to keep you in the loop with what your kids are learning each week. We hope you find it a useful tool in sharing the gospel at home!

We wrapped up our series on women of the Bible this week by looking at Rachel. We discussed how even when people may not always keep their promises like in our story, God will ALWAYS keep his promises.

Read Matthew 5:37, “Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil.”

Review promises with your kids. Discuss how easy it is to break a promise and hard to keep them. Give your kids a boiled egg. (If you’re really brave, you can give them an unboiled egg!) Tell them they have to take care of the egg and not let it break. Have your kids do some sort of running and jumping game holding the egg. Explain keeping a promise requires effort and constant care on our part, just like not breaking the egg required care. When we make a promise, we have to put in the effort and work to make it happen.

Glorify. Grow. Go.
